Is glorious. I support the torque wars, because not feeling 15k lbs behind the truck is nice.

We live in a glorious time of tow vehicles. I get a kick out of the fact the my new F-150 with a 2.7l ecoboost produces only 25ft/lbs less torque than a 7.3l powerstroke the younger me once owned.

That’s insane.

Nice!
Those Aisin transmissions are good!
I would like it if they could make a manual transmission which would be able to contain that much torque and not “just” 660 lbf-ft (j/k)

First one to 1000 wins right?
I hope Dodge does it when the new HD Rams come out.

Hopefully.

Agreed, even the lower rated versions are awesome for towing. (mine is a 2500).
It makes driving with a bigger trailer completely.... meh. Not an issue at all, just a leisurely drive. My truck will climb most interstate hills @ 2k rpm like it’s nothing. Previous gas truck would be @ 6k rpm sounding like it was going to explode.

I’ve pulled with an old 650 lb ft version several times, and while it does it’s job, I wouldn’t call it excessive.

Torque is just a force, its like bragging you imported a sweet 240 V chest freezer from Europe because more volts means it will cool better.
Force x rate for the win.

930 @ 1700 > 650 @ 1700

Its the “@” thats important. Its just another way to write “301 HP @ 1700" though. A jump from 650 to 930 sounds way more impressive than one from 210 to 301 though.

ha. Rams cant hold a trans now. They wont with 1000. Unless they get Suncoast to supply all the transmissions to them

Not sure if old joke if actually new information. My truck knowledge has declined over the years.

Both lol. I know a few people with newest gen cummins and they have had issues with trans after 50000 miles. Granted they tow a bit but they are stock trucks. No tuners or rolling coal.
